VIDEO - Revlon Colorstay Foundation: Review, Demo and Test

HEY Everyone

Sorry I missed a week last week as I had promised to post a video every week!
What can I say... my intentions are good but then life keeps getting in the way!

ANYWAY

Here is my latest video!
It is a Review, Demo and Test on the Revlon 24hr wear Colorstay Foundation!

I use the Oily/Combination version (dry skin version also available) and my colour is 240 medium beige!

Before applying my foundation I set a cream contour on my cheek bones, temples forehead and down the sides of my nose and I colour corrected with NYX colour correcting concealer in Orange.. I used this to combat both dark patches and redness under my eyes, on the nostril area, chin and wherever I had a blemish, I then applied the foundation on top (without rubbing in these products) and used my real technique expert face brush to buff in not only the foundation but also the colour correcting concealer and cream contour. Hence I started with the concealed/lighter areas of my face first and then moved on to the areas that had the cream contour.
Off Camera I then applied my ELF blush/bronzer duo in Antigua and set everything in place with a loose powder (mineral rice setting powder by youngblood cosmetics).

Please remember to subscribe to my channel and a thumbs up is always nice too :)

You can follow me/get in touch on Instagram/Twittter/facebook @ShahiraBarry

Hope you enjoyed the video!

Lots of Love,

6 months out on my own - living in LA!

Hey Blog Readers!

So March 4th marks 6 months that I have lived on my own (I do have a house mate and I did go to college for three years in Limerick) but what I mean is away from Ireland, Galway, my friends at home, my family and my pets! all the way on the other side of the world! I moved on August 4th so it is actually 7 months since I was last in Ireland but my beautiful mum came with me for the month of August to help me settle in (she left on September 4th) SO really it's 6 months that I've been out in the big bad world on my own! & I thought I'd reflect on that here...

Where to start..
I think a lot of people didn't believe me when I said I was going to move to LA on my own and I understand that there were plenty of reasons to doubt! for one it took me awhile to get everything organised so it seemed as if I was talking about it forever! and secondly I am not really an "on my own" type of girl! In Galway I would barely walk down a street on my own (I always had someone with me!) It began with a slight fear and anxiety: When I was a child one of the strongest memories is my sister (who was 9 years older than me) being attacked as she walked in what would have been a relatively nice area! It really effected me and I bought it with me into my teenage years! I would always ask a friend to walk me home or have someone come to collect me! Anyway, my point is moving across the world all alone, without a friend or someone else in tow, is actually fairly out of character for me and I can definitely see that! However, I am also extremely stubborn and if I set my mind on something I am going to do it! I always had a dream of living in Hollywood and after my first visit in 2012 I fell in love with it just like I always knew I would! I found somewhere where I felt I belonged.. a place where I fitted in! Sure..I could have tried to convince someone to move with me so that it wouldn't be as scary but I am a strong believer that everyone has their own path in life therefore convincing someone to give living in LA a go may have been the easier option but in the long run I would have perhaps thought I wasn't capable of doing it on my own and become reliant on that other person - whereas now I have learnt that I am an incredibly strong person and I feel I have grown a million times more than I would have if I convinced a friend to move with me for the wrong reasons!
How has the move been so far...
It's had it's ups and it's downs! I've taken off my rose-tinted glasses! I've learnt a few harsh lessons: such as people are people & there are some good and some bad wherever you go! That seems so simple and obvious but before officially moving here my experience had always been that people in LA are happy, positive, amazing people who want the best for everyone and live a life of chasing their dreams.. (and there are plenty of people like that here who I've had the absolute pleasure to meet!) but the flip side also exists: people who are extremely competitive and bithchy! I guess you could say it's a part of the entertainment industry but it's actually just a part of life in general! and it's difficult when I truly do not see myself as a competitive or cut-throat person at all! sometimes you are given the image that you need to be in order to succeed! I hope that this is not the case as that is simply not me! I hope that being hard working and genuine will stand for me in the end!
I have had a couple of down days since my move (such as feeling home sick etc..) but in general I would say that moving to LA has been the best thing I have ever done and the best thing that has ever happened to me! I feel like I have grown so much and done so much in quite a short amount of time and I am proud of myself for the things I've learnt and experiences I've had so far!!

Believe it or not it's helped with my anxiety...
You would think that moving to a MASSIVE new city and a MASSIVE new country at that would make me more anxious but in fact I feel it has had the opposite effect! I feel perhaps I was suffering from "small town syndrome" when I lived at home because what you may or may not know about me (I've mentioned it on my blog before) is over the past 5 years or so I became a nervous, anxious wreck about many things! I went from being a relatively laid back person to an A1-Stresser! so much so that I truly believe it effected my personality! I suffered from full on Panic attacks among other issues! It got to a stage where I could barely walk down shop street in Galway without feeling anxious and like I just wanted to run and not see anybody! whereas before I may have been able to hide I feel that moving to LA has made me face many fears head-on and either over come them or deal with them! and although it hasn't been without it's stresses I feel that I am less anxious and a lot more capable since the move! Obviously it's individual but I genuinely feel throwing yourself into a new environment and leaving behind old baggage is a great way to find yourself again if you're feeling a little lost! It has been tough but so far it's been SO worth it and I wouldn't change a thing!x!

Some questions answered...

Why did I move from Ireland?
I love Ireland, it will always be my home! I love Irish people and I appreciate them a lot more since my move - Meeting Irish people over here is the best thing ever! I feel like they instantly become my friend. Irish people, abroad especially, are so united.. I feel we just instantly understand eachother and the humor is the same! I left because I believe there are far more opportunities over here in the areas I am interested in: the Entertainment industry and Modelling! I could have chosen London but my gut told me London wasn't for me right now..something was pulling me toward LA (maybe it was the idea of the weather and lifestyle, lol).

What's LA like...
LA is amazing! The sun is shining every day which I feel makes a huge difference to your mood! It's probably only rained maybe 3/4 times since I've lived here and because it's so uncommon it almost makes you appreciate when it does rain..it's Cosy! the weather is definitely a huge plus but I also love the positivity and I feel the healthy lifestyle in terms of everyone hiking etc.. really suites me! (I used to hike all the time in Ireland to!Try Diamond Hill if you're in the West Coast of Ireland-it's great!). My apartment building has a roof top pool, Jacuzzi, bbq, sauna, gym and it's right by runyon canyon for hiking and free yoga which is held x3 a day! Life is unpredictable here - you never know what the day will bring, who you'll meet or what opportunity will present itself and I love that about it! one phone call can change the ball game so it's full of excitement! there's also some great parties here and I love hiphop which is blasting everywhere! Life is good! I am very happy here!x!

What have I been up to since the move...
I feel like the question really is what haven't I been doing! because it's been an absolutely whirlwind! I've been on sets of Movies/TV Shows/Music Videos and Commercials! The only thing I haven't been doing as much as I would like is modelling with regards to photoshoots etc.. as I have been pulled a lot more towards acting, Tv, videos and film! I am constantly working! sometimes 6-7 days of the week! The cost of living is a lot higher here so I have to keep working anyway but I feel I'm incredibly blessed to have the opportunities I've had and to be as busy as I am as it's doing what I love! I believe busy is a great thing!! and I genuinely feel I am doing a good job at chasing my dreams and being on the right path, going in the right direction!

The Hardest Part...
The Hardest part is missing my family and pets! After-all I've lived with them (or at least seen them every weekend when I was in college) my whole life! I would happily live in LA for the rest of my life if I could bring my family and my animals! With animals it's particularly hard because I can't explain why I've left them or where I've gone! My cat, Kushka, died since my move and this absolutely broke my heart!! I've had her since I was 4 years old (my first day of school) and I love her like family!

11 Random Facts About LA:

  • Everyone tells you to try 'In N Out'... It is nice but it's not as good as they say! although it would be hard to be AS good as they say because "they" really hype it up! with that said it is good so try it and make your own mind up ;)
  • LA is SO big each different area is referred to as a "city" of it's own.. e.g. "The City of Santa Monica"
  • Its sprawling and there are millions of people yet you still run into the same ones all the time if you're living the #SetLife :p
  • I've never seen a city with so many trees! parts of the city are totally immaculate (cough Beverly Hills and the likes) while other parts are pretty dirty (I thank the not having lids on bins so rubbish can fly out..I don't get it!) but regardless of where you are every street is lined with trees, bushes and flowers giving a lovely spring time smell all year round!
  • LA is in a drought... The LA river is a sight for sore eyes! it's literally an empty dry basin... so everyone is delighted when it rains! As I mentioned it's only rained less than a handful of times in the 7 months I've been here but when it has I've secretly liked it! lol! Feels like home! :)
  • DownTown is a bit scary... some people rave about downtown and how it's the new happening place for good night life and restaurants! the sky scrappers do give an energetic city vibe but personally I find it a bit dodgy.. I'm never too thrilled when I have to street park and walk to wherever I'm going downtown! I carry a pepper spray that was given to me by a friend on set who insisted I need to take it with me wherever I go alone!
  • The public transport is really not great! some people swear by it but if you compare it to London it's pretty non-existent or at least a lot unsafer! So get used to being in your car and getting stuck in traffic because everyone drives! Luckily playing loud music and driving around Cali makes me happy :)
  • What you definitely should try is frozen yogurt! it's the best thing since sliced bread! and a healthier option than ice cream... although not so healthy when you included all the delicious toppings you can add to it!
  • LA has some of the best hikes I've ever been on! on a clear day you can see the whole city plus snow peaked mountains to the east and the Pacific ocean to the west!
  • If you wanted to you could go skiing and to the beach in the same day! There are an endless amount of things to do and stuff to see!
  • Although a big city that is certainly hustling and bustling with millions of people LA has a beachy, relaxed, and true "cali" vibe that I believe is unique and unlike other cities of the same size- even though city life is fast paced wherever you go in LA it's almost like fast pace in slow motion if that makes any sense! I find it surprising how quiet and calm it can be.. plus there's always birds singing :)
A special mention
The 4th is also my dear friend's birthday. She would have been 24 today. 5 years have passed and it doesn't matter where in the world I am or what I'm doing my heart was shattered and my world as I knew it was destroyed when she left us and every day since I have felt the pain! Grief is a strange thing - everyone deals with it differently: it brings people together and it separates people, it causes arguments and it causes unions, it makes you appreciate life and it ruins your life; it's a never ending journey and one thing's for certain it changes your life forever! She is with me in my heart every day but today I wish my beautiful special friend a happy birthday

Apologies for the sudden turn in tone during this blog I simply didn't feel that I could write a blog on this date and not give my beautiful kind and special friend's birthday a mention!x!

Do yourself a favour =seize the day! life is short! tell your loved ones you love them! let go of anger or anything weighing you down, don't sweat the small stuff! take advantage of the life you're given! Live it to the full!, chase your dreams and do what makes you happy!x!
I'll end this blog with this happier toned video of some of my personal highlights during my time in LA so far!x!

7 random facts about me blog

Hey Blog Readers

So for a while there everyone was writing facebook statuses which gave an insight into 7 random facts about themselves. Personally I liked these statuses because I found it interesting to learn some silly random facts about different people - it made me feel like I knew them a little bit more! BUT I know some people found the craze annoying (there's always a few right??). Anyway, I didn't share mine on facebook so I thought I'd share them here: that way only people who are interested will feel a need to click in to the blog link :)

Here we go...

  1. For years I hated my name 'Shahira' simply because it was different... I wanted to be called Rachel (after Rachel from friends) or Nicola because I think the nick name "Nikki" is cute! I had people call me by my nick-name for years (it rhymed with barry... cringe) I wouldn't change my name from Shahira now because I've grown to really like it and it also means 'Famous' in Arabic so that's kind of cool considering I'm pursuing a career in entertainment so it's a great stage name! By the way another random fact: my mum always says if she knew it meant famous she wouldn't have called me it and would have looked for something with a "deeper meaning" lol.
  2. When I was younger I hated photographs (you would never know that now... #selfie, lol!). The first pictures I thought were 'decent' were from when I made my debs in 2008! (funny because I cringe at them now).
  3. I've suffered from panic attacks and have a constant struggle to control my anxiety (even to this day - despite the front I may show to the rest of the world). I also went through a period of depression and at one point it was very serious. In general I would describe myself as a "glass half full" and a very happy person but despite having legitimate reasons for feeling the way I was feeling it still hit me like a tone of bricks and was difficult to make sense of or see past. These days I wouldn't say "I'm cured" because it's day by day (and I think it will always be day by day) but I am aware and I take extra care to look after my mental health. FYI I also hate that it's called 'mental health' a lot of the time people do have reasons for becoming depressed. My point is that depression can sneak up on anybody! The only reason I am choosing to share this here on my blog is because I genuinely don't think that anyone from the outside glancing in would have guessed it at any point (except for those extremely close to me) and therefore my message would be that we have to be kind to each other because you truly never know what someone is going through! I have chosen to share this personal information because if even one person reading this can relate: know that you are not alone and realise that through every dark night there's a bright day after that! I am also sharing because I think it's important for people who have struggled with this to speak out and not to feel ashamed! we are human and life can be hard! Not only do we need to take care of eachother but first and foremost we need to take care of ourselves! "Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself".
  4. I live a very healthy lifestyle (some may call it boring) I rarely go out and barely drink alcohol - I say barely because I don't want to put the label "i don't drink" on myself because I feel that's pressure and it's made into a big deal then if from time to time I decide to! (it's not the end of the world afterall). I used to enjoy partying as much as the next person (I started prettyyy young) but my priorities have been building a career and chasing my dreams for the past couple of years and to be honest I get more happiness and adrenaline out of being on set or progressing in that way then I do from a night out anymore and personally I don't think I can balance both. Safe to say this decision also lead me to realize who my true friends were and who were only around as "drinking buddies".
  5. I'm really out-doorsy! I love nature and animals! (I miss my pets a ridiculous amount!!) one of my favorite things to do is to go hiking! I also like adventure sports - kayaking, gorge walking, rock climbing, anything like that is right up my street but I don't get a chance to do them as much as I would like to!
  6. I'm a Taurus and probably a typical one in many ways... I'm stubborn, passionate and when I set my mind on something chances are I'm going to do it. I don't take no for an answer... where there's a will there IS a way! (obviously all within good morals)
  7. I have a very small family - My immediate family consists of just me, my mum and my sister and despite living in LA. I speak to my mum about 10-15 times a day and my sister maybe 1-2 x a day depending on our schedules! Viber is a great thing! There couldn't be a closer family and despite being small we are strong and so united! It causes me a huge amount of pain being so far  away from them and I'm not embarrassed to say they are my true best friends!x!

So there you have it! 7 diverse and random facts about me that you may or may not have know depending on how well you know me on a personal level!

Thanks for stopping by!

HEY sorry it's been awhile!

Hey Blog Readers! :)

I'm so sorry it's literally taken me forever to get back to blogging - the last couple of weeks have been so HECTIC you'll just have to forgive my absence! ;)
Anyhow, If you follow me on facebook/twitter/instagram/youtube or anywhere at all for that matter, ha, you already know that I had been planning to move country for quite some time now... and by quite some time I actually mean AGES!!! SO... I've FINALLY DONE IT!!!

I've had an obsession with 'Hollywood' / 'Los Angeles' ever since I can remember and in 2012 I finally got the chance to visit for a holiday. I spent two weeks here and fell in love with it! so much so that I decided I needed a longer trip... I booked to come back for three months in 2013 to get a feel for what it would be like to live here! YUP it was just as I thought it would be...my love grew even more within that three months! I even balled my eyes out crying while on the plane on the way home to Ireland! so I knew as soon as I landed back I was going to start saving and researching into how to get a visa so that I could live and work in the USA for a couple of years :)
I can count on less than one hand how many times I went out over the next 11 months after my return to Ireland! I stopped spending careless money and I just challenged all of my energy into saving and planning for my move. I talked about it so often and had different dates in mind that I guarantee more than a couple of people questioned whether I was ever going to leave?!! lol! Anyway!.. it wasn't an easy process by any means (in fact it was ridiculously stressful and difficult) but last month: on the 4th of August 2014 I FINALLY DID IT!!! I Packed my bags, visa in hand and headed for a new beginning and adventure in LA!!

What a lot of you didn't know was that my mum traveled with me for the first month! (BEST MUM EVER!x!) She wanted to make sure that I got settled and on my feet - so we set out on the tedious task of car and apartment hunting! both proved terribly difficult! especially when we didn't have a car to get around in the fist place! I mean it's hard to find reliable, trustworthy "car sales" places as it is - without being two females with Irish accents that just scream "we're new here and haven't a clue about cars!" There's also a lot of paper work etc.. and nitty-gritty things that goes into moving abroad - such as getting a state ID, a social security card (so you can work) etc... to say moving is a long process is an understatement!
My Mum :)
COUGH! My mum said to add that her shoes are dirty because the trail in Runyon Canyon is a dust/dirt path ;) and not that she always wears dirty trainers ;) LOL!

me and my mum at Santamonica Pier

Anyway when the time came for my mum to leave it broke my heart into a million little pieces! For anyone who doesn't know: me and my mum are SO close - she's literally my best friend and I love hanging out with her! in fact I pick and have picked hanging out with my mum over friends on numerous occasions because I just genuinely enjoy her company and think she's the best person in the whole world! at the end of the day nobody has your best interests like your mum and my mum is simply a fantastic human being!
All of my energy had been so focused for so long onto firstly getting the visa and secondly making the move that I never really had the time to stop and think about how difficult it was going to be when the day came that my mum had to head back to Ireland! The day before she left I started panicking - although we had tried to get everything sorted and me settled before she left to make the process easier of course it didn't really work like that! The morning she was returning to Ireland we were both in a state and I could not stop crying! I cried for 2-3 days straight! I wondered how I was going to survive so far away from my mum, my sister and my pets! My mum and my sister are the most important people in the world to me! Those first few days here were very hard and didn't seem to run smoothly at all!! it was one obstacle after another!

It came to a stage when I just had to smack myself  to wake up and think 'This is what I have prayed and wanted for so long! I have one opportunity here so I have to give it my all!'. I dived straight into work and I've worked almost every day since she left! I was even working earlier today: which is a Sunday(as I type this but I'll probably post it tomorrow, Monday)! no rest for the wicked! Once I'm kept busy either working or hanging out with friends I feel a lot better and I am feeling good and positive about my decision to move here now! I joked about homesickness before but it is really a horrible thing to feel (now that I experienced it for a few days!). I know that there will always be ups and downs in life so my aim is to take it one day at a time and go with the flow!

Feeling homesick really wasn't a very nice experience at all! but now that it seems to have passed I think if things keep going the way they're going then moving to LA could possibly be one of the best things I ever did for myself and growing as a person! Every day I face fears I didn't even know I had and it feels liberating! Maybe this is what growing up feels like?! ;) lol (but I did fairly throw myself in the deep end!ha!) For anyone considering a move abroad or to a new city I think the article 'Why you should move to a new city...' (click here) is an excellent read and eye opener!

What I've been up to
Since I've been here I've worked on music videos (Marron5, Avicii, Magic!), played the lead girl in a SMOSH episode! (coming soon) worked at Warner Brothers and MTV, auditioned for Warner Brothers/various music videos/acting roles/singing. Tomorrow I'm working on the set of Dancing with the Stars and on Tuesday & Wednesday I've a small part in a new Zac Efron movie 'We are your friends'! I've also been back/forth at my favourite hangout-The Playboy mansion! and attended the Mid Summers Nights Dream Party!(FAV), started yoga in the park, watched American football for the first time, bought a car, found an apartment, showed my mum around LA, went to the beach and I've made lots of new friends along the way!
The opportunities that have come my way so far I wouldn't have had at home so I feel extremely blessed to be here, to be chasing my dreams, to be busy with work opportunities/bookings and most importantly to making a living from doing what I love to do and being a part of the entertainment industry and all it's craziness!

I do really miss my family but I'm going to keep going and see where this journey takes me for now.. one day at a time!! :)

Ireland is 8hours ahead on LA so the time difference is difficult, especially as the majority of my regular blog readers are Irish but I hope this is the beginning of my return to regular blogging! If you have any blog requests message them to me on my public facebook page... just click here to visit!
I'd love to hear them and requests make blogging so much easier for me because it gives me an idea of what the readers of my blog want to see on here :)
I realise it may be too late as summer has come to a close and many are done with their holidays but I wanted to add that I got these 'Air-o-lite' suitcases in Penney's (50quid for a large one!) and they are seriously excellent for travelling and staying under the weight restrictions! I used them to move all of my stuff from Ireland to the US! not only are they SUPER light and manageable but they have great pockets and compartments for storage! a 5year guarantee and they are expandable yet sterdy!  If they still have them in Penneys I'd recommend stocking up for your next trip abroad! from only 1.4kg they are the world's lightest suitcases! and they come in a variety of colours and sizes! #MondayMustHave ;)

Also I'm waiting until I move into my permanent place (it's being renovated/things are complicated!lol) before I return to Vlogging for my YouTube! but below is my last video incase you missed it! and again if you have any Vlog (video blog) requests send them my way on facebook!

Also Just before I left for the US I reached 10,000 likes on facebook!!! WOW-Thank you so much to each and every person who dropped by my facebook and pressed like!x! I really appreciate each and every one! Ye're AMAZING :)

Love you guys!
Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for being patient with my lack of blogging...
I'M BACK! ;)

Get ZEN!

Hey Blog Readers

Apologies for the slack with regards to writing my blog lately - As you know if you're a regular here on my blog or on any of my social media I have just re-located to Los Angeles so it will take me awhile to get on my feet and to get a pattern back in terms of my blog posts etc... (I haven't even been here a week yet) so bare with me!x! ;)

ANYHOW, before I left for LA I visited the SHAMAZING Zenergy on Fade Street in Dublin. For anyone who doesn't know Zenergy is a health and beauty salon. I had had the most stressful week ever preparing to leave for LA so my trip to Zenergy could not have come at a better time and for the time I was there the craziness of my week left and I became totally 'Zen' and relaxed!

Zenergy health and beauty stands out from many other salons. They bring together therapists with over 100 years of combined experience from 10 different cultures including Thailand and Bulgaria, acknowledged for their expertise in massage, wellness and spa traditions. Accordingly, Zenergy health and beauty specialises in all types of Massage and Wellness, Sports injuries, Physiotherapy, & Pain Relief, Complimentary therapies such as Reflexology & Reiki, Anti-Ageing treatments such as Microdermabrasion, Glyconic Peels & facial injections as well as Beauty treatments such as luxurious Yonka & Dermalogica facials, Lycon waxing, Shellac manicures & pedicures and more. Uniquely, Zenergy brings together all these services under one welcoming roof!

What Treatments Did I go for...

I spent about 3hours at Zenergy being totally pampered (everyone needs a little spoiling now and then ;) lol). I had a Yonka Facial with Sarah, a back and shoulder massage combined with reiki with Tara, and a shellac manicure and pedicure with Sarah again. The whole experience was heavenly and just what I needed!

The Yonka Facial:

It had been over a year since I had any facial but I absolutely love getting them!
The Yonka facial is blended to suit your skin… A Custom Yonka facial is a 1 hour facial designed especially for Zenergy, with a unique combination of plant extracts. It draws from the best of nature and science to give your skin the natural means to regain its balance and vital energy at every age of life.
Let me tell you - it is as good as it sounds! not only was I totally relaxed but the results were amazing!
Sarah chatted me through my skin type, the areas I wanted to improve etc.. and explained how a facial can not just be run of the mill and the same for each person because everyone's skin is different and what suites one person may not suite another. I thought it was great that Zenergy truly care for the individual and providing the best service possible for that individual.
I asked Sarah if there was anything she could do to help the dark circles around my eyes (it had been a week of very little sleep) so she concentrated on that area and also a small breakout that I had at my hairline. When Sarah showed me the end result in the mirror once the facial was complete I was amazed by how bright and alive my skin looked but it was really later that evening when I arrived home and my family kept giving me compliments on my skin without any make-up on and I looked in the mirror again that I truly realised how fantastic the treatment had been for my skin!
I would definitely recommend a Yonka facial with Zenergy to anyone looking to add a glow to their skin! :)

Next I went for my back and shoulder massage combined with Reiki with Tara. This is the first massage I have ever had in my life! I have always wanted one but I've never got around to it! Jhez it was just what the doctor ordered! it was bliss! I could feel the knots in my back loosen and the stress that I had built up floated away!

I am a very spiritual person so I feel that the combination of reiki with the massage really suited me!

What is Reiki...

Reiki is a Japanese technique that helps restore balance and harmony to the mind and body.
It is administered by laying-on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki uses the life force energy to heal, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies.
Reiki promotes healing, reduces stress and promotes relaxation through addressing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual imbalances. At Zenergy they combine Reiki and massage to maximise the relaxation benefits.

I did feel totally renewed after the Reiki/Massage and I felt like I let a lot of emotional baggage that I've been holding on to slip away.. with an upcoming move and a new chapter beginning it almost felt like the perfect way of closing the door and moving on from the last chapter in order to start a fresh new life in LA (I was flying on Monday morning and visited Zenergy on Friday). It made me feel like everything was going to be ok, I could deal with anything and just to take things one step at a time.
I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone who holds on to a lot of stress or has gone through a hard time that they need to let go of and begin to move on from...

Lastly I had a Shellac Mani & Pedi - again with Sarah. I love shellac because I find them a lot easier than gel nails. They give a polished sleek look without the lack of being able to pick things up etc.. (which I find irritating about gels).

It was hard to decide what colours to go for but eventually I decided to go with an all over white for my nails. White is on trend for Summer'14 and lets face it it goes withe everything! and then for my toe nails I went with a basic french manicure because I think it's good to keep the toes natural but polished. I also knew that I would be wearing a lot of open toed foot wear once I arrived in LA so something that wasn't too shocking/clashing and that would go with every outfit would probably be a good bet! and now that I'm in LA wearing my sandals I think it was ;)

My overall experience visiting Zenergy:

I have to say I think I've been very lucky lately because I just keep meeting lovely people! Both Sarah and Tara who looked after me in Zenergy were so friendly and welcoming and as I've said a million times on here before it makes visiting somewhere whatever for... a beauty treatment, a hair cut, even a trip to your local bank so much more pleasant and enjoyable when the staff and people you meet a long the way are positive friendly people - it makes everyone's experience so much better!
Zenergy was just what the doctor ordered for me and it made me feel completely 'ZEN' and ready to conquer the world. I felt brand new when I left - all be it a bit sleepy because I was totally relaxed!

Zenergy is the perfect name for the salon because it definitely is a combination of ZEN and Energy

If you currently live in Ireland (especially in the Dublin area-though it is worth a trip ;) ) I would highly recommend a visit to Zenergy. Life is so hectic it is nice to visit somewhere of calmness where you can recharge the batteries and get back on track and that's what I felt Zenergy did for me!
