A Victoria Secret Models Secret ;)

Please Note: Unfortunately this post was one of the blogs (pre.28th of July 2014) that suffered a 'Blogger' crash.. which saw all images vanishing! I have tried to replace the images from the crash as best as I can. However images of me with products etc.. may be lost as a result and therefore the images you see may not match the text(which is original and was not effected by the crash). My blog has therefore had to start fresh and all blogs starting from July 29th 2014 are correct with the appropriate, original and correct images but unfortunately the same can not be said for images lost in posts before this date. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Shahira xo

Hey Blog Readers :)

I thought I'd let you in on a FAB Beauty secret: one tub for all-from Hair-to-Skin!!!

As used by Victoria Secret models-Gisele Bundchen, Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima. Other famous faces included Tyra Banks, Jennifer Aniston, Valentina Zelyaeva (the face of Ralph Lauren) and Gwyneth Paltrow-To name but a few!!

Miracle Product... but why?
There are countless things you can do with this ONE product! Which by the way you can buy in your supermarket for 5/6e!!for a large jar!!

It is proven to:

  • Give a great shine to hair-by giving a deep conditioning treatment to each strand.
  • It is also great for growing long thick hair-Many Indian woman swear by it.
  • Protects against dandruff, split-ends and premature greying!
  • Protects hair and skin from sun damage.
  • If applied to the skin it acts as a great moisturiser as well as prompting a clear complexion.
  • It is also a brilliant body moisturiser for after a bath/shower and keeps your skin smooth and soft to the touch.
  • Ideal for rough/dry/wrinkled skin or people who suffer from eczema.
  • Helps to cure fungal infections such as athletes foot!
  • Helps to prevent body odour!(lol)
  • It is extremely high in antioxidants!
  • Regular application protects the skin from developing blemishes and spots caused by over exposure to sunlight!
  • You can use a dolop in the bath as a relaxing bath oil or in your face mask!
  • promotes weight loss-and can be used as an alternative to butter and other spreads as well as cooking oil.
  • It can also be used to remove eye makeup due to its oil base!-use with a damp cotton wool pad.
What is this Miracle Product???

Yes... COCONUT OIL!!

If you're a follower of my blog you may have caught my post on Coconut Water-which is SUPER good for you and SO Yum and hydrating! If not click***here*** to read it.

Basically the Coconut is a miracle product in itself-which not only smells and tastes delicious but it can also be used in many different ways as part of a beauty regime! But coconut oil is a new discovery of mine-and it will be staying in my life now forever!! It all started when I tried Pat Divilly's new health menu in Lynches cafe in Galway-I noticed there was a 'sweet treat' which was a coconut/almond biscuit: I LOVED it! I took a picture of the ingredients on the menu and went home and cooked a big batch (probably defeated the purpose of healthy-having so many but its still a healthy option and I was craving more!lol) I'll post another blog with the ingredients and cooking instructions for the healthy option biscuits-so keep an eye if you want to try them ;) anyway-one of the ingredients was coconut oil and at 5/6e I thought it was quite expensive for one ingredient! But my mum mentioned that she had heard you could use coconut oil as a hair mask etc... so when I got home and after I'd cook the biscuits (which were YUM) I googled how to use coconut oil and after some quick research I learnt about all the amazing things it can be used for!!

Victoria Secret Model, Miranda Kerr has been quoted saying:
"I personally take four tablespoons of coconut oil per day, either on my salads, in my cooking or in my cups of green tea. I will not go a day without coconut oil"
This is because it promotes weight loss, glowing skin and hydrated hair!!

I have started using it on my hair and it makes it SO shiny!! I've also used it to take off my makeup (it worked brilliantly), as a moisturiser (I found it left my skin silky and smooth!) AND as an After-Sun lotion (it cooled and soothed my skin straight away).

How to use:
When coconut is at room temperature it is solid-therefore spoon out a small amount (a little goes a long way) and rub in-between the palms of your hands-it will become an oil and you can begin to massage it through your hair (make sure to get an even coverage). I then combed the oil through my hair, put my hair in a plait and went to bed. The next day shampoo your hair as normal (I shampooed twice to make sure all the oil was out) but dont use conditioner (the oil is enough). The result is gorgeous shiny, glossy hair!

***Please Note*** Be careful not to contaminate the jar of coconut oil-Use a clean spoon each time.

I also use coconut oil on my skin-It was left soft and clear.

I'm never going back!-Its a simple, cost effective product that you can use for SO many things! I'm delighted with my discovery!

Will you be trying it?

Let me know if you do :)

Lots of Love,
Shahira Xo

What I Wore

Hello :)

Saturday was my friend Tina's 21st Birthday and she celebrated it in the Skeff followed by Karma nightclub. I hadn't been feeling very well for a couple of days before hand but I had to make an appearance so I popped into Lyndsay in Absolute Hair Studio and she put my hair into an upstyle before heading to my friend Donna's apartment for pre-drinks and then down to the party.

Here is what my hair and make-up looked like:

excuse the cotton-swab it was just for fixing my eye-make-up :)
The hair was back-combed to give some volume and pulled back in two different sections with a side part and bun detail at the back.

I did my own make-up: Arabic inspired liner giving a cat-eye look with pink lipstick and fresh natural foundation.

What I wore:

I wore a lace-flower crop top, with hot pink/purple sequinned short-shorts, a body chain, horse shoe gold earrings, black tights and studded rocker ankle boots.

Where was everything from?
Boots: iclothing
Tights: Anywhere-Penneys/Dunnes
Shorts: Asos.com
Top: NewLook
BodyChain: NewLook

What did you think of my outfit and my hair Up for once?

My next Blog is on the secret to SHINY Healthy Hair plus a Victoria Secret Model's Beauty Secret ;)

How to survive a beach shoot-Plus BTS photos from yesterday's photoshoot

Hey Blog Readers :)

So yesterday I did my first in-water beach shoot (I cant believe I had never done one before-I did shoot on the beach before with Richie.ie: to see the BTS blog on that shoot click here: but we didn't go into the actual water).

Myself, Sammie (Samantha Craughwell makeup) and Sean (McCormack) hit Spiddle beach yesterday for a quick evening shoot. On Friday the weather was so gorgeous and sunny that we planned to shoot and expected the same on Sunday-Of course that never happens in Ireland as the weather is so unpredictable: In fact it was expected to start thundering and lightening (which scares me to death, lol) THANKFULLY it didn't and the rain held off until we had finished.

Above is a sneak peek of one of the resulting pictures-They all have a bit of an eerie feeling to them :)

How to survive a Beach shoot:

  • Organisation is key! The last thing you need on a beach shoot (in particular) is to be unorganised-Make sure you know what your wearing and you have an idea of what type of shots you want to get-the beach is cold (in ireland... most of the time anyway, lol), its sandy and things get wet so you don't want to be wasting time pulling loads of different outfits out and getting them dirty and wet for no reason... KNOW WHAT YOUR WEARING and ONLY BRING WHAT YOU NEED
  • Remember the essentials-A large beach towel, Flip flops and a warm jacket/Dressing-gowen (think of how you'r going to get changed).
  • Extras: Hairspray/gel-although the 'wet look' is the norm for hair on most beach shoots and it doesn't involve  too much styling remember to bring some hair spray and a comb to give a sleek look and keep everything in place.
  • Baby oil or something that gives the skin a bit of a glow is not an essential but a nice touch ;)
  • Remember to wear SPF! even if you don't think it is sunny-the last thing you want is sunburn.
  • An extra person: I wish I had brought an extra person to assist and help out-it would have been really handy to have an extra pair of hands to help with equipment as all 3 of us (Sammie, Sean and I were needed in the water) and perhaps having someone on shore would have helped enormously.
  • Have your game face on: Be confident and try to get a good shot as quickly as possible:-Given that the shoot is based in the water try not to waste anyones time-the faster you work the shorter amount of time you keep everyone in what can be quite cold water.
My day:
I had a great day-the water was actually pleasantly warm, which was surprising, and I found I was colder when out of the water. We worked faster than normal...left out the chit-chat and got down to business... although there were still some 'Lols' ;) haha

BTS:
On the beach :)

Just finished=on with the turban and dressing-gowen, lol. Car heating=Full blast :) #bliss

Makeup:

Lazing watching the Kardashians-still hadnt taken my makeup off 10pm

Cant wait to show you all the professional images from the shoot: Make sure to keep an eye on my facebook :)

If you model did you find the tips helpful?

National Lottery-Euromillions PressCall

Hey Blog Readers :)

I haven't been much good at blogging lately-sorry :( I've just been so busy and it actually takes longer than you'd think to do a blog post...

Anyhow...

On Thursday I did my first press-call with the National Lottery for the Euromillions:

I had SO much FUN!x!

The shoot was with myself and the lovely Pamela-also an Assets model. I liked having the opportunity to bond a little with Pamela-I don't think you can ever have enough friends and it's nice to have some in the same agency :)

I also think we make a good team-Pamela has really blonde hair and my hair is as dark as it gets and we're both really smiley :) lol which is what you need with something like the lottery press calls-a lot of cheese, laughs and giggles :)

Here are some of the pictures:

We met at Merrion Square Park at 9.50 and got down to business-posing: playing with the jackpot sign, pretending to be rich-throwing money around and Shopping :) it was good fun and didn't take too long.

What I wore:
The theme was Ladies Day-"Every day could be ladies day if you won the Euromillions" I wore a Burnt-Orange/red French Connection Bodycon dress with a blue headpiece with peacock feathers designed by Andrea Tighe from 'Tí Tighe'.

Press:
It landed in the Irish Sun and Mirror yesterday

The National Lottery is definitely an organisation I want to do more work with-The press calls are so much fun and I'd absolutely love to do a tv advert if the opportunity ever arose-Their ads are so witty and they always catch my attention :)

Lots of Love
