Easy Winged Eyeliner (Cat eye)

Please Note: Unfortunately this post was one of the blogs (pre.28th of July 2014) that suffered a 'Blogger' crash.. which saw all images vanishing! I have tried to replace the images from the crash as best as I can. However images of me with products etc.. may be lost as a result and therefore the images you see may not match the text(which is original and was not effected by the crash). My blog has therefore had to start fresh and all blogs starting from July 29th 2014 are correct with the appropriate, original and correct images but unfortunately the same can not be said for images lost in posts before this date. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Hey Blog readers!

My go-to make-up look involves a "cat eye" eyeliner flick which can at times be a bit tricky but I've learnt a few helpful tips along the way which have helped me to get this down in less than five minutes for both eyes!

For the flick you will need:
1) sellotape
2) a good liquid or gel eyeliner!
3) if using gel you may need a thin brush - I find the best brush for this is a small, stiff, angled brush.

I use Master Precise liquid eyeliner by Maybelline. I have used lots of other liners in the past but this is my favourite as it is extremely easy to work with and has a pointy precise tip which helps you to create a flawless flick, bottom and top liner, and inner liner, for that perfect cat eye every time.

Please note: apologies in advance if you spot my messy brows in the step by step pictures - I am growing them out for my visit to the Beauty Suite in Tuam on Monday where I am getting my must have HD Brow treatment! :)

  1. Cut a piece of sellotape and lightly stick it to your face in a line from your bottom lashes to the edge of your eyebrow.
  2. Use the edge of the tape as a guide for your flick. Lightly tracing a long the edge to the required length (depending on personal preference and how long you want your flick to be!
  3. Bring the liner from the top or middle section of the flick to the highest point of your lash line (in the center of your eye) Creating a sideways V-shape.
  4. Fill in the V with liner.
  5. Lightly trace your top lash line sharply from the inside corner (tear duct) once again to the highest point of the lash line (joining the liner together).Start thin with the line and get thicker as you approach the middle and flick.
  6. Go back over the line you've created and fix any mistakes.
  7. Gently peel away the sellotape.
  8. Connect the flick to the bottom lash line and draw a thin line on the bottom lashes as far as the half way point of your eye.
  9. I usually apply a  white liner to the water line and top with mascara.
  10. Do the other eye :)
You can add this liner look to a smokey or neutral eye or indeed wear it on it's own for a day-time look! either way it's a go-to of mine! and as you get practice you'll notice you don't need to use the sellotape so often but it is a handy way to ensure a flawless finish :)

The above make-up look was done by Fiona Coyne at heaven scent and photographer Natalie Greer at Boudoir Girls. I loved this make-up look and again you can see a lovely liner flick :)

Will you try this technique?

Happy cat-eyes :)

Gluten free, flourless & protein packed Pancakes

Hey blog readers!

I just made a late night snack and it turned out so well I decided to share the recipie on my blog with you all (this is not my recipe but I just tried it and I'm pleasantly surprised)
The ingredients are laughable but seriously I am never making normal pancakes again because these are amazing and so healthy! Mmm you need to try these!!

I wondered how this would work.. After all not only does it not include any flour but it doesn't even include milk!

However believe me when I say they work and they're yum yum yum!! :)
So much so I'm converted and I'll use this method from now on -it's a healthier option and just as delicious!

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!
1) mix 2 eggs and a banana together in a bowl.
2) fry as you would a pancake.
3) serve and enjoy! Add a topping if you like! I added peanut butter!

Enjoy!!

Let me know what you think!!

Monochrome Madness - Get the look

Hey Blog Readers!

For today's post I wanted to show you a new outfit- monochrome-esk ;) It's been awhile since I did a fashion blog post so no time like the present!

This whole look is from iclothing.ie and I will post direct links to each item below :)

I had a few outfits pulled from iclothing but I decided to go with this one as I can easily dissemble and mix and match items here to create different looks!
Monochrome is always a good bet and is predicted to be huge for spring/summer'14

I have wanted a plain white peplum top for awhile now but I hadn't been able to find a good quality one!

What I love about this white peplum from iclothing is the cut-out back - I feel that this aspect gives the top a sexy edge, especially as the nature of a peplum top is to have quite a high neck-line, so I think the low cut back shows just the perfect amount of skin and means that the top can be worn as a day or night time look!

I also love the slightly padded shoulder as it gives the immediate illusion of an hour glass figure!
The peplum itself begins at the perfect height (not to high/not too low) and drapes down at the back to cover your bum-therefore it would also be suitable to wear with leggings!

My fashion icon is Kim Kardashian, I would love to have her entire wardrobe - she always looks amazing!
Kim can be seen rocking a white peplum with many different outfits below.. which shows just how versatile a top like this can be! hence it is the perfect wardrobe staple! ;)

Now onto the jeans - I am in LOVE with these black and white jungle print jeans = they are definitely a statement piece but again you can dress them up or down! I think they are a great jean for spring/summer!
I am always weary of ordering jeans online because I think jeans are something you generally need to try on and I find it hard to find jeans that fit me correctly! however I fell in love with the jungle print on these jeans as it was something I hadn't seen before so I decided I had to have them!
Luckily I was pleasantly surprised as they fit brilliantly! they are made of a stretchy (almost jegging-like) material which means they hug your body perfectly and in all the right places! I also love that they are high-waisted so they hold the belly in! lol :p They also have pockets on the front and back.

I definitely want to invest in more jeans from iclothing because of the excellent fit!

And although these jeans have quite a loud print because they are staple black&white there are endless ways you could style them! for example with a crop top for a edgier look or a plain T and flats for a casual day-time look!

The shoes I picked-up remind me of a horse riders ankle boot... but with a heel ;) I'm really feeling the equestrian look at the minute-I love leather knee high boots as well as these quirky ankle boots and you could pair these booties with jeans, leggings, or tights and a skirt so they are very versatile!

The cardi is great because it's a waterfall shape which is forgiving on every figure! It is also cosy to wear but still stylish! While this cardi is more of a beige tone rather than a white I still feel that it pulls the outfit together nicely and again it can be dressed up or down depending on what you pair it with. I love leather so I'm loving the leather effect sleeve and rim detail! I also love the length as it's not too long and not too short... = Just right! :)

For the Jewelry I wanted something bold that would add a pop of colour and take away from the monochrome (to change it up). This statement necklace was perfect! I have aqua (green/blue) eyes and I often play off of my eyes with my eye-makeup so I felt that the colours in this art deco necklace would work well, especially in the sun. I can wear it with a bold outfit like this one or allow the necklace to do all the talking by pairing it with a plain black outfit. It would also make gorgeous summer jewelry to stand-out with a nice bikini!

The bag: I love the bag because essentially there are two bags in one ;) It has lots of pockets, which is handy for storing your phone, makeup etc.. there are two straps (long and short) or you can carry it as a clutch and that's not to mention how beautifully sparkly the stud detail is!x!
